Northwest Reports Profit

nwa.jpg

Northwest Airlines reported a third quarter profit this morning, shattering most expectations. The company came out of bankruptcy earlier this year and has been busy cutting cost and raising fares. In the past few weeks the company CEO has talked about the possibility of merging with another airline. So all in all, industry expectations were pretty low.

We pay fairly close attention to the airline's health because it provides our daily service to Memphis, Minneapolis and Detroit (via Pinnacle Airlines).
